On March 24, 2014, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) final rules to improve hiring and employment of veterans and for people with disabilities took effect. One rule updates requirements under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA); the other updates those under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
This resource center offers detailed information about the new regulations, providing government contractors with the guidance they need to understand and comply with the changes.
NOTE: Covered federal government contractors are required to comply with all changes to applicable regulations effective March 24, 2014. However, contractors with a covered contract in place on March 24, 2014 are permitted to delay compliance with Subpart C of the final Section 503 and VEVRAA rules (pertaining to written plan requirements) until the contractor's new affirmative action plan cycle for that plan, following the March 24, 2014 effective date.
