HR Strange But True!
February 21, 2008

The "slacker" and the "kiss-up" are the two most annoying co-workers, according to a survey by SnagAJob.com, a job website for hourly workers.

The survey found that 32.6 percent of workers say those two workplace stereotypes are the most annoying co-workers.

The survey found that the third most annoying co-worker is the "gossip hound," cited by 18.4 percent of respondents. During the survey, 11.8 percent of respondents cited the "loud talker" as the most annoying co-worker, making it the fourth most common response.

"Work should be fun and as this survey makes clear, it's not fun being surrounded by Eddie Haskells and George Costanzas," says Shawn Boyer, founder and chief executive officer of SnagAJob.com. "Either one can hurt your company's culture and bring down morale."

More than 7,000 individuals responded to the survey.
