The Associated Press reports that a Seattle health-care consultant is sponsoring
a contest in hopes of sparking ideas and starting a public debate about health-care
reform. The current crisis is "hitting people too close to home,"
the consultant, Kathleen O'Connor, said. "But it's so big and confusing,
people don't know where to begin. I thought, 'Anybody can enter a contest.'
O'Connor said the idea for the contest came to her as she worked on a book
about health care. Writing about the problems and challenges was a snap, but
she was struggling with the last chapter: "Where do we go from here?"
So she decided to ask.
