An amusement park in Ohio is inviting all of its former employees to attend a four-day reunion weekend. Let's hope they don't all show up at once, because Cedar Point, which is located in Sandusky, Ohio, estimates that it has nearly 200,000 present and former employees.
The park has invited all employees who worked seasonally or full-time to its "Back to the Point" event during Labor Day weekend.
The park has been in operation since 1870 and says many past employees feel a special connection to the park, including some who have met their future spouses at Cedar Point. For example, Knute Rockne, the legendary football coach at Notre Dame, met his wife while working as a lifeguard on the Cedar Point Beach in 1913, the park says.
During the event, a live band will perform in the Grand Ballroom to recreate the employee dances of past years. Other activities include an "Old-Fashioned Chicken BBQ ." Former employees will also be able to ride two of the park's most popular coasters after the park closes to the public.
To attend "Back to the Point," participants must pre-register online or register at the park during the event. Participants are eligible for a special park admission price of $24.95 per day, if purchased online in advance of the event. The ticket also allows former employees early entry for rides at the park.
The park is also reconnecting former employees with its "Alumni Alley," a web page where employees can register and search for former colleagues. So far, more than 9,000 individuals have registered for "Alumni Alley."
