Get America's Job Bank Records Before June Deadline

Are you a federal contractor who used America s Job Bank (AJB) to meet the mandatory job-posting requirements under the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act and the Jobs for Veterans Act? If so, you have until June 30, 2008 to retrieve your records.

Contractors are required to maintain documentation of their efforts to comply with the mandatory job-posting requirements, so you'll need those records to prove your compliance in the event you're audited by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). Such records may include copies of emails and electronic facsimiles or letters.

There are two ways to retrieve job-posting records from AJB:

  1. Go to www.jobbankinfo.org and follow the prompts, or
  2. Send an email to ajb@labor.state.ny.us

The federal government stopped operations of AJB last June 30. Since that time, contractors have been required to list job openings with "the appropriate workforce agency job bank" or "employment delivery system in the state or locale where the opening occurs." Typically, these agencies include the words "one-stop service," "employment services," "state workforce agency," "employment security commission," "job service," or "workforce development center."
