Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently appointed Angela
Bradstreet as California's new labor commissioner. Bradstreet previously served
as the managing partner for San Francisco-based corporate law firm Carroll,
Burdick & McDonough. As labor commissioner, Bradstreet takes the helm at
the Department of Industrial Relations within the Labor and Workforce
Development Agency.
One of the initial projects under Commissioner Bradstreet is
a public forum series to discuss meal and rest period issues. The first forum
was held in early August in Sacramento, and a subsequent one for Southern
California is in the planning stages. For updates on the public forums,
