National Summary
HRIS stands for human resources information system. Human resources collects and maintains a lot of information about applicants, employees, employees’ family members who are included in benefit plans, reporting relationships, etc. This includes everything from the information needed to track hours and pay employees, to eligibility for and enrollment in benefit plans, to reporting relationships and training plans. Keeping this information up to date, secure, and in a format that is useful for planning, is what the HRIS is all about.
