Execs Cite Motivating Staff as Biggest Management Challenge

When asked to name their biggest management challenge, marketing executives' most common answer is motivating employees, according to a survey by the Creative Group.

Thirty percent of survey respondents cited motivating employees as their biggest management challenge. Twenty-eight percent said finding qualified staff is the biggest management challenge.

Other responses included training staff (14 percent), retaining staff (11 percent), and resolving staff conflicts (7 percent).

The survey had 250 respondents, including 125 advertising executives with the nation's 1,000 largest advertising agencies and 125 senior marketing executives with the nation's 1,000 largest companies.
