Creating a Custom Document Using the Policy and Employee Handbook Manager
To create your custom document in the Policy and Employee Handbook Manager:
- Go to the Documents tab and click the title of the document you want to customize. The document will appear in a text editor that is similar to most word processing programs.
- Click Save Copy in the upper right corner and enter a custom title for your doc.
- Click OK, then click Save.
Using the formatting toolbar at the top of the text editor, customize the document as appropriate for your facility. To change the text of the document, simply highlight the area and add the new information.
The yellow highlighted text indicates areas where you need to input information specific to your facility. Once edited, you can remove the yellow highlight using the paint can icon in the toolbar. However, it is recommended that you leave the highlight to serve as a reminder as to where you have custom information if you ever need to edit the plan again. The yellow highlight does not appear on any published version.
Any instructions to the user will appear in [ ] and be italicized. Note: Remove these instructions before publishing the plan.
Uploading Your Own Documents into the Policy and Employee Handbook Manager
To add your own existing document into the Policy and Employee Handbook Manager:
- Click Create New on the main documents page. This will open a blank text editor.
- Select a topic from the dropdown menu.
- Select a type for the document, insert a title, and copy and paste your existing content.
- Click Save. This document will appear in the general list of documents in the main documents page.
