BLR’s 2012 Policy Survey found that one-in-four respondents indicated that social media policies would create the biggest challenge for their company in the next year (see chart).
Coming in at a distant second is cell phone use/distracted driving at 21.6 percent followed by attendance and FMLA at 17.4 percent and 15.9 percent respectively.
While social media policies may be a challenge, survey results show that many employers are taking at least one step to keep their organization up-to-date. In the next 6 months, 50 percent of respondents indicated that they plan to update their organization’s social media policy.
