The lawsuit seeks class-action status and $1.4 billion for economic damages, emotional distress, harm to reputation, and punitive damages.

In the lawsuit, six female workers say they were also subjected to inappropriate comments and behavior at the investment bank, the newspaper notes. One senior banker alleges that her supervisor called her the "Pamela Anderson of sales/trading."

The lawsuit also claims the company denied promotions to women who had children.

"It is not our policy to comment on pending or threatened litigation," says a company spokesperson. Dresdner Kleinwort "fully complies with all applicable employment-related laws and is confident that any claims to the contrary are without merit," she said.
