According to the EEOC, two employees at a dELiA*s store in Pennsylvania were repeatedly harassed after telling company officials they were pregnant. The harassment included repeated questioning regarding their ability to do their jobs. One of the workers, a fashion representative, was terminated in retaliation for complaining about the discrimination, while the other, a co-manager, was forced to take early maternity leave because of the harassment, the EEOC said.
In addition to the monetary payment, dELiA*s agreed to provide appropriate training, revise its employee handbook, and report future complaints to the EEOC.
