This month is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). Held each October, NDEAM is a national campaign that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.
The theme for 2012 is “A Strong Workforce is an Inclusive Workforce: What Can YOU Do?”
The Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), the agency responsible for the observance, offers employers, unions, federal agencies, and other organizations ideas on how to participate in the annual observance.
Suggested activities range from putting up a poster, to training supervisors, to implementing a disability education program.
