In May, President Bush signed legislation that increases the minimum wage from $5.15 per hour to:

  • $5.85 per hour on July 24, 2007,
  • $6.55 per hour on July 24, 2008, and
  • $7.25 per hour on July 24, 2009

The updated poster, which is available in a black & white version and color version, also reflects the 2008 and 2009 increases. The poster is available on HR.BLR.com here.

Employers are required to display a notice with information for employees on the minimum wage, overtime pay, child labor laws, enforcement of the FLSA, and contact information for the U.S. Department of Labor.

The changes in the federal minimum wage will affect employers in some states more than others. For information on how the new minimum wage will affect employers in your state, go here.
