Two Massachusetts employers--Live Nation, the concert
promoter operating at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, and Sport Service, the
concession operator--recently paid a fine of $4,000 and $12,000,
respectively, for violation of the state's child labor laws.

Attorney General Martha Coakley, whose office investigated
the employers on an anonymous tip, said that during the 2007 concert season,
Sport Service had minors working beyond 10 p.m. on many school nights in May
and June, and on numerous other occasions, employed them to work for over 9
hours per day, the maximum daily hour limitation in Massachusetts. Live Nation
was cited for five instances of employing minors past 10 p.m. and many
instances of employing minors without work permits.
