If you are considering throwing a party for Super Bowl XLVI, it’s actually pretty easy to green the game event. Here are some simple ways:
- Go electronic with the invitations. Sending evite can be fun! Use Evite as the Big Game party planner.
- Save energy. Turn the heat down. Your guests should be dressed for winter anyway—plus, with everyone in the same room, it’ll get warm quick.
- Greener beverages. Avoid pollution from transportation. Serve local beer and wine. There are more than 1,500 breweries in the United States, so one of them has to be near you!
- Think healthier--but still delicious--food. Nachos and salsa, pita chips and hummus, baked potato chips and ranch or spinach dip. Of course, fresh fruits and vegetables are a hit. And don’t forget the guac! Here's a great guacamole recipe.
- Go paperless. Use your day-to-day plates, silverware, and glasses. Paper plates may be easy, but they fill up landfill space.
