Cover the Uninsured Week, an effort to draw attention to the 46 million Americans without health coverage, will be held May 1-7, 2006, with events expected across the country, according to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The weeklong event will include health and enrollment fairs, seminars for small businesses, campus activities, business leader summits, and interfaith outreach. Forums held in Washington , D.C. , and around the nation will feature business leaders talking about how rising health care costs are affecting their business, their ability to provide health insurance for employees, and the need for national solutions.

In 2005, more than 2,200 events were held during Cover the Uninsured Week, according to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
