A man says he entered a store in Madison, Wisconsin, so that he could apply for a job. But, why was he allegedly wearing a mask and carrying a BB pistol? Read on for his explanation.

Police say a man entered a PDQ food store wearing a mask and carrying a BB pistol. The clerk at the store told police that when she saw the man, she ran outside and grabbed the attention of a police officer who happened to be driving by at the same time, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.

When questioned by the police, the man who entered the store said that he went there to apply for a job (he decided to apply after 11 p.m.) and that he was wearing a bandana that covered most of his face because of a nasty smell outside.

The man faces two charges: Disorderly conduct while armed and e ntry into a locked coin box (police allege that he tried to open the cash register) .
