February 17, 2010 took a look at the occupations of people seeking car insurance and whether they claimed a prior accident when seeking the quote. The company then came up with the list of the “Top 10 Most Dangerous Drivers by Profession.”

The ranking is based on accident claims as a percentage of quotes from So, yes, it is an unscientific analysis.

In any case, here's the list:

  1. Attorney/Judge (44 percent claiming a prior accident)
  2. Financial Professionals
  3. Government Worker (GS6)
  4. Bartender or Waiter
  5. Business Professionals
  6. Dog Groomer
  7. Marketing/Advertising Professionals
  8. Barber/Stylist
  9. Coach
  10. Nurse says the professions with the lowest accident-claim rate were athletes (17 percent) and homemakers (24 percent).
