HR Strange But True!
October 18, 2007

If you think your cubicle is the dingiest, most cramped, or just plain saddest bit of office space around, think again.

The Wired News Saddest Cubicle Contest invited workers to send in photos of their miserable cubbyholes (or a co-worker's), with the "winner" to be awarded a RoboMan Webcam.

If you think you'd be in the running for the prize, better take a look at some of the photos and accompanying comments posted on the site - there are some doozies. If, after looking at the photos, you still think you'd be in the running, sadder news still: Entries closed on October 12.

Take heart, though - there is still time to cast your vote and take some guilty pleasure from the misery of others. Some of our favorites:

File Cabinet Cubbyhole -- A tiny desk stuck behind enormous filing cabinets in the corner of a conference room.

Half of a Desk -- "My desk has a column in the middle of it," the contestant wrote. "Then it was cut in half. Now the wiring doesn't work."

My Sad, Sad Little Pen -- "I think that veal calves get more space than this..."

Wall of Death -- "Seven desks squeezed together with 10 year old chairs that do little for the spine."

Can You Find the Cubicle? -- "Is there even room for a person in there?"
