September 08, 2011

Over the past few years, we’ve seen organizations get creative when it comes to perks. Here are a few incentives that can keep employees up-and-running, literally!

Treadmill desks—There have been many reports in the news about the health effects of sitting at work. To help improve workers’ health and keep them stimulated, the Treadmill Desk is work space that fits virtually any treadmill and allows employees/students to walk slowly while they work without sweating or extra time out of their day, according to the website.

EnergyPod—Getting sufficient sleep is important for workers of all ages. Not catching enough ZZZs can affect workers productivity, health, and the safety of others. Enter the EnergyPod, a reclined chair that looks like something out of a Star Wars movie. Apart from the sleek, ergonomic design, the chair offers a built-in music player as well as a vibration alarm.

Organic grub—Some organizations, such as, are looking to improve employee wellness by offering workers organic food, reports Forbes. For example, employees are served local, organic food in the company café. No need for takeout here!

De-stress with a massage—Stress is another health factor that can affect your employees. Several companies are combating high tension by offering chair massages to employees.
