HR Strange But True!

A Whitman, Mass., police officer has been fired for making his criminology class a little too interactive.

Town selectmen voted unanimously to fire Sgt. Glenn Pearson because he allegedly invited a stripper into the criminology class he taught at Massasoit Community College, according to the Boston Herald. The stripper is said to have taken off her top and performed a lap dance on at least one student, the newspaper reported.

Pearson had been in other trouble as well. The selectmen actually found just cause for punishment in six allegations against him, including conducting an illegal arrest in nearby Brockton, Mass., and making inappropriate sexual comments to a female officer more than once.

Pearson was also fired from the community college.

Mark Fitzsimmons, a lawyer hired by the selectmen to investigate Pearson, said letting a stripper into the classroom has nothing to do with preparing students to become police officers. "It is of no socially redeeming value whatsoever to invite a female person to a class and permit her to remove her clothing," he said.
