HR Strange But True!
May 03, 2012

Working mothers around the globe are being highlighted by MAMA: Motherhood Around the Globe, an online exhibit of the International Museum of Women (IMOW).

Mama’s Work, a featured gallery, takes a global look at motherhood and the importance of work/life balance.

“While many consider motherhood one of the world’s most important jobs, women deserve greater recognition for the challenging balance of work and motherhood,” the website reads. “What challenges do working mothers face? How does mothers’ work affect family structures? And what systemic changes must be made for moms to get the support they need?”

The site features art, writings, and multimedia from men and women across the world on topics such as the gender wage gap, paid parental leave, women-owned businesses, education, family responsibilities, and more.

Visitors can also watch interviews with 11 mothers from different countries and hear about their experiences—from the challenges to the joys—of being a mother in this day and age.

Visit the Mama’s Work gallery.
