HR Strange But True!
March 14, 2002
We all know that HR is never boring. But sometimes it can get downright strange...

Meet the Biscuit Lady

Janet Shaffer had a not-so-secret weapon in winning the title of Domino's Pizza Delivery Specialist of the Year for Tarrant County, Texas.

Here's a hint: Shaffer, 49, is also known as the Biscuit Lady.

While her two-legged customers can count on getting their pizza delivered to the door, their dogs can count on getting a dog biscuit, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Shaffer said the idea came to her about two years ago. She saw customers struggling to hold back the family dog with one hand while trying to take custody of their pizza with the other and wishing they had a third hand with which to pay her.

"If you hand a dog a biscuit, nine times out of 10 they take it and run back into the house, and I get to talk to the family," Shaffer said.

She's so well-known that some customers ask for the Biscuit Lady. But a Domino's spokeswoman said that while you can choose whatever you want on your pizza, you cannot choose your delivery person.
