Here’s a perk you don’t hear about often, free beer. One California company keeps a keg refrigerator for employee use.

Employees at Yelp! have access to free beer courtesy of the company keg, according to a recent report from Buisnessweek. But it’s not just a free-for-all. Every ounce of beer is tracked by an iPad app that uses the employee’s work badge for identification purposes. That way, the employer is notified if a worker has had one-too-many pints.

“If you’re at the top of the leader board consistently, I don’t know if that’s a place that you’d want to be,” said Eric Singley, director of Yelp consumer and mobile products. “Luckily, that hasn’t really even been an issue.”

According to Singley, the keg is meant for after-hours refreshments, however, depending on the employee, off-hours vary greatly.
