HR Strange But True!
May 05, 2010

A police department in Florida is investigating allegations that a few police officers engaged in a practical joke in which they allowed a dog to eat out of a peanut butter jar and then put the jar back on the shelf so other officers would eat from it later, the South Florida Times reports.

A Fort Lauderdale Police Department spokesperson tells the newspaper that a criminal investigation has been launched into the allegations.

The newspaper reports that the investigation was launched in February after a detective came forward with a complaint.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that there are also allegations that some officers are secretly taping colleagues who work different shifts.  However, the spokesperson declined to confirm that those allegations have been made.
