HR Strange But True!
June 10, 2003

Richard Thompson, CEO of a major business, was walking on the Upper East Side of New York City recently when a Rottweiler bit him on his backside.

Had the dog been doing poorly in the stock market? Had its master been laid off by Thompson? Or did the incident have something to do with Thompson's company being none other than Meow Mix, the cat food maker?

Interviewed by the Associated Press soon after the attack, Thompson said he was finding it difficult to sit comfortably. But his sense of humor remained intact.

"I'm still convinced the dog knew who I was - `Top Cat' of the Meow Mix Co.," he said. "I think the dogs had a conspiracy against me."
