HR Strange But True!
June 02, 2009

Yes, the setting is the same as those wacky '80s comedies, and the circumstance is something right out of a movie script, but this is no Hollywood yarn.

According to The Hartford Courant, a female state police license analyst was being teased by training coordinator “Woody” of the Meriden Police at the Connecticut Police Academy, where both are instructors for the Police Officer Standards and Training Council. Reportedly, she got irritated by Woody after he kept calling her “clerk” because she had to make photocopies.

“Whatever, Woody, bite me,” the arrest warrant quotes her as saying, using a common sarcastic phrase. Well, she alleges, Woody actually bit her!

The bite left teeth marks and a bruise on her upper arm, she says. Woody said in a statement that he and she were always joking at work and that he was “horsing around” when he “pretended” to bite her after her statement.

He was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on charges of disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment. He was also suspended from his job and barred from returning to the Police Academy. He was released on a promise to appear.
