HR Strange But True!
July 12, 2002
We all know that HR is never boring. But sometimes it can get downright strange...

If that's not a plug for the company...

Randy Kimball was managing a 7-Eleven convenience store in Fort Myers, Fla., when Sharon Stehli showed up to apply for a job. Romance ensued.

Two years later, they decided to return to the 7-Eleven for their wedding - at 7:11 a.m. on July 11.

"I figured if I got married at 7:11 on 7/11 in 7-Eleven, it'd be hard to forget my anniversary," Randy Kimball said.

The Associated Press reports that a brief ceremony was performed Thursday by a notary who is an assistant manager at another 7-Eleven store. In keeping with the event's tropical theme, the couple brought in a pile of sand for their altar (the slab of concrete between the store and the parking lot.). The groom wore dark sunglasses, a Hawaiian shirt and shorts. The bride wore a Hawaiian print sarong dress. Both wore shark-tooth necklaces.

The AP reports that after the ceremony, the newlyweds sipped coffee from a foam 7-Eleven cup.
